Abstract
Purpose: To compare two types of 99mTc-MDP, 99mTc-DPD, and
99mTc-HDP for evaluation of bony scintigraphic imaging quality.
Materials and methods: Ten healthy volunteers were underwent bone scintigraply using
four types of compounds including two types of 99mTc-MDP, 99mTc-DPD,
and 99mTc-HDP. Blood clearance rate was measured at 5,15, 30, 60, 240 min after
injection of the compounds using a gamma counter. Scintigraphic imagings were obtained
using a gamma camera (Vertex-plus) at 1, 2, 3, 4 hour after injection and bond/soft tissue
uptake rations at the lumbar vartebra, upper femur, and mid femur according to the scintigaphic
compouds were compared.
Results: Maen values of blood clearance rate of MDP ¥°, MDP¥±, DPD, and HDP at 4 hour
were 7.15¡¾1.77, 8.61¡¾2.97, 5.68¡¾1.19, 8.88¡¾2.57, respectively. There were significant
difference between MDP and DPD(p<0.05). Mean values of bone/soft tissue uptake rations
at 4 hours after injection, which were measured at the lumber vertebra were 6.87¡¾1.08,
6.92¡¾1.42, 8.57¡¾1.22, and 7.46¡¾1.09, respectively. The ratio of DPD was significant
increased than that of two types of MDP (p<0.05). At the upper femur, those of DPD and HDP
were significantly increased compared to that of MDP at 2 hour(p<0.01). Overally, bone/soft
tissue uptake ratios were increased at delayed images and that of DPD showed the best
quality of images at the three area.
Conclusion: 99mTc-DTP may be provide more good quality than 99mTc-MDP
or 99mTc-HDP for evaluation of bony scintigraphic imaging.
